Great, local place with good food and reasonable pricing.
Just like the other reviews said, it was good food, but a little pricey. Get the coconut shrimp with sweet chili sauce! I wish we had more shrimp. The grilled greek pizza could have been better. I think the large chunks of artichoke and the whole kalamata olives on it could have been chopped up a bit. Also, it could have had a bit more pesto. But, it wasn't bad at all. Crust had a nice crunch and some grill marks. Also, it seemed like the dough was home-made and hand stretched.
First timer. At 400 East, and Massachusetts. I'll never come back to this place of business. The chowder was good. The service was mediocre. And that's putting it nicely. I understand places get busy, but to only ask ONCE how we were doing or if we needed anything just as you were RUNNING by to another table.....no.
We had a wonderful experience here at the 440 East hosting a wonderful anniversary party for our parents a few weeks ago. I contacted Kim a few months prior and she was helpful and easy to work with. I made changes, etc. and she met every single expectation we had! Our waitress Crystal was amazing and great service to all of our guests. The food was fantastic and I recommend having a party here because they really know how to throw one! Thanks 400 East!!!!
Highly disappointed and appalled! Came here on my birthday for dinner with my family. Ordered shrimp scampi. There's was so much garlic on it it actually stung your tongue when eating it. We asked to have it remade, the waitress told us that's scampi. Scampi is garlic. We asked for it without garlic then. Scampi does have garlic but not that much. There should be a balance in flavor, it should not taste like you bit into a head of garlic. She told us they would remake the pasta but rinse off and heat up the shrimp so they dont have to charge us again. I swear to you they not only rinsed off the shrimp but the whole meal and reserved it! We again complained, the waitress said the chef misunderstood no garlic for a little garlic. The rest of our order was fine. I will not be returning. ever.
Two servers (that I saw) and a mostly full restaurant. And lacking service. Not a good impression of the place. Sorry but two stars is all they get from me.
